Caravan Parks

The use of water by caravan parks is significant whether in site irrigation or potable water in shower and drinking facilities. Water is the single greatest challenge to sustainability and site operators continue to optimize their water consumption by increasing efficiency and utilizing innovative technologies.

  • You will save up to 90% of your water usage costs.
  • All capital costs are quickly recouped – typically 3-4 years.
  • Any daily abstraction of less than 20,000 litres is free from licensing. This may be augmented by the use of storage facilities.
  • There are no water charges after installation.
  • You will have the control of your own supply which is independent of any Water Authorities
  • Borehole water is purer and chemical free because it does not have to travel through long distance pipework from reservoirs and rivers.
  • You will have a sustainable supply and pressure which is unaffected by drought conditions and hosepipe bans.
  • Boreholes are not affected by mains supply problems such as leaks.
  • Many sites suffer from low water pressure and quality which can lead to inadequate supply issues. Your own borehole will prevent this.
  • All materials used are of the highest quality and WRAS & DWI approved.

Water Storage and Irrigation

The current position is that a daily water abstraction of 20,000 litres requires no licensing. This abstraction can be used to supply holding tanks thus ensuring maximum efficiency of water supply.

The holding tanks can then be used to supply existing irrigation systems as required.

In addition it may be possible to make use of natural rainfall by the efficient use of water harvesting.

Club-House Heating and Cooling

The current trend for renewable energy has seen a rapid rise in the use of ground source heating systems (GSHP). Using borehole technology we install both open and closed vertical collector loops which transmit via heat pumps systems.

The use of vertical loops rather than horizontal ones has the advantage of utilising less space and the heat collection is not affected by fluctuations in ground or air temperatures. The deeper the borehole is drilled the less susceptible the collector is to extreme seasonal temperatures or soil conditions.

GSHP systems are particularly useful where ‘space heating’ is required eg. open-plan offices or recreational areas. However, in warm conditions the heat pump system is reversible so that cool air conditioning can take place.

Shallow Soakaways

We can provide an inexpensive and permanent solution to problematical waterlogged areas of your caravan park.

We do this by drilling a series of shallow boreholes through the impermeable upper clays into the more porous lower strata below thus allowing the water to drain away.

These mini-boreholes are backfilled with graded quartz gravel and completed with the original surface plug. This gives immediate results and an instant restored surface. These mini boreholes can also be integrated with existing land drainage systems.

Deep Bore Soakaways

These provide a practical alternative where traditional drainage may be ineffective or too costly. A borehole of up to 200 metres is drilled and lined with a combination of a solid and perforated liner and completed with quartz gravel.

The solid element ensures a correct seal of the borehole wall whilst the perforated element allows easy percolation.
